HORN Glass Industries AG collaborates with UAE Float Glass Company

Emirates Float Glass has partnered with HORN Glass Industries AG to double production capacity and launch ultra white low iron glass. UAE Float Glass Company (EFG), a subsidiary of Dubai Investments, plans to double its production capacity from the current 600 tons per day to 1200 tons by adding a second float glass production line.

The new production line will also introduce the production of ultra transparent low iron glass, which is a pioneering capability in the Middle East and North Africa region.

The new floating production line is planned to be put into operation by the end of 2027 to early 2028, integrating advanced automation, energy-saving systems, and next-generation process control to ensure consistent product quality, operational reliability, and reduced energy consumption.

This project was implemented in close collaboration with HORN Glass Industries AG, which has been selected as the supplier for the complete technology line, including all basic utilities and media supply systems. In addition, a civil engineering contractor based in the United Arab Emirates and an international project management company also participated in the implementation.

The design of this project places great emphasis on energy efficiency and environmental responsibility, reflecting Dubai Investment Corporation's commitment to sustainable industrial growth and innovation in the glass manufacturing industry.
